Visited me before my operation, spoke also to my husband, I was very confident that he would look after me. Just prior to being wheeled into the theatre he was there again to reassure me that I would be fine. AND I was.

Dr Uncles was very polite, reassuring and listened to what I had to say prior to my general anaesthetic. He also came to see me post operatively which was a very nice touch.

I was lucky enough to have David Uncles as my anaesthetist during my recent hospital stay. He came into my room with a very calm aura, which I needed so badly. I have never had an epidural or spinal before and was extremely apprensive. He explained the procedure to me in terms that I could understand. I next saw him in the anaesthetic room, I was so nervous, he immediately made me feel at ease, explaining again what was happening. Didn't feel a thing, or remember anything. I apparently awoke during procedure and asked for a glass of water, no memory of this at all. I next saw him in the HDU, he came to see how I was, again so very calm. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you so much

Profile

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
